Rachel Stanton is an expressive artist, using gestural marks to convey the sense of energy she feels living by the sea. The huge expanses of sky, sea and moor, with the ever changing weather, provide her with endless inspiration.
Rachel studied art some 20 odd years ago and found her way back to it more recently as a form of therapy. She has recently graduated with distinction as an art student. Rachel enjoys the fact that she's an emerging artist, as this gives her the freedom to experiment and have fun with no pressure or expectations. "I love finding different ways of creating my work and really enjoy experimenting with different materials and styles in response to the sea and landscapes here in North Devon".
Rachel lives and works in Westward Ho! She is inspired daily by the wonderful walks from her home. Windy cliff walks along the rugged coastline, looking out towards Clovelly, Hartland Point and Lundy in the distance and the rock-pools below.
Please enjoy looking at her artwork and follow her on Instagram and Facebook too, where you'll find behind the scenes snapshots of her day to day life as an artist. You can also find out more about Rachel on her Blog.
If you are interested in any of her artwork and want a video call, or to arrange a studio visit to see her work up close and ask any questions, she would love to talk to you! Please do get in touch with Rachel here.
